A second chance for glory

Citizens Of Blackstone!
Second chances in life don't come along very often but if or when they do, it's important to try and take advantage of them. Right a wrong, avenge a loss, that kind of thing except in this case, a little less intense.
Remember this Wilfredo Torres illustration?
Unfortunately, we didn't hit our 100 New Backer goal in time to give all of you a free print of Wilfredo's piece. Which sucks for all of us; the team behind The Dusk are nothing if not a bunch of people pleasers. We appreciate you guys and want to make you happy. Which brings us around to that second chance we mentioned...
We're getting closer to our funding goal every single day but we'd like to push things along a little faster. Specifically, we'd like to get to an even 30k in funding by Saturday morning, 9:00 AM EST. If you guys don't mind shaking the trees and sharing our project out to your friends, family and social media accounts, we'll return the favor by getting a sweet Wilfredo Torres Dusk print in your hands. Physical backers get a physical copy, digital backers, a hi-rez file.
And by all means, feel free to tag your posts with #thedusk. We've been known to reward those who help us with random giveaways of nifty Ominous Press swag and books. Hint, hint...
Cool? Let's get there, citizens!
We've also found a couple of more cool projects to share with all of you. First up today, Billy The Kit, by the creative team of Justin Gray and Barry McLain Jr.
Billy The Kit!
Supernatural, talking animal, gunslinger horror comics are a very underrepresented genre in the industry these days, wouldn't you agree? Luckily for all of us, Justin and Barry decided to do something about that lack of representation and brought us Billy The Kit!
If you're a fan of comics (because really, this is the kind of project that comics were invented for), Bugs Bunny, Spaghetti westerns and Hammer horror films, we feel like Billy The Kit hits all those sweet spots for you. It's very, very close to funding so by all means, give a hand if Billy is your kind of huckleberry. One note though, Billy is very much an rated 'R' project. Find out why over at their page.
And secondly, our friends Cullen Bunn and Danny Luckert have a new project called Beyond Mortal coming up in the very near future. Currently, the pre-launch page for the project is active and backers can sign up to be notified when the project goes live. Cullen is one of the best writers working in the field today and Beyond Mortal looks like another diamond in the making. We're getting in early on this one and we hope you do too!
That's all for today, Citizens. Let's all go out and get that Wilfredo Torres print together!

Eisma powers...ACTIVATE!

Citizens of Blackstone!
You know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words? Well, in this case, it's worth 998 and those two missing words? JOE EISMA!
Joe Eisma-tizes The Dusk!
We're very grateful to Jocular Joe for producing this amazingly heroic piece for The Dusk campaign! You'll be seeing this art pop up as part of the campaign very soon! Keep an eye out for it, and several other pretty incredible contributions still to come from some very talented guest artists. (Elmi, sorry, but Alex Ross won't be contributing. We wish, too!)
Many of you guys out there, hustling on the mean streets of Blackstone, jumped on the IMPOSSIBLE DUSK crossover and are now lined up for a copy of the free print. You saw the print by David Hahn, right?
Well, the Impossible Jones/Holly Daze campaign is winding down over the next 36 hours so we thought we'd mention it one final time. If any of our backers would like a print of this crossover piece (and who wouldn't?), just also back the Impossible Jones campaign before it ends and boom, you've got one coming. Simply post a comment to this update with the words IMPOSSIBLE DUSK to help us keep track and verify crossover backers with Karl Kesel over in Impossible-land and you've got some free stuff in your immediate future!
And while we're pointing you guys in different directions, MUTINY MAGAZINE has caught our eye. We all love comics and Mutiny seems to be a very cool combination of mainstream and indie comics, with contributions by GregCapullo (drawing SPAWN!), Chris Cross and a host of other names and talents sure to blow you away! We threw our money at this one the moment we saw it and wanted to share it with you guys too.
That's all for today. Remember, sharing is caring. You guys are helping us get closer to our goal every single day. We can't wait to get this book into your hands!

Week Three...BEGIN!

Citizens of Blackstone!
Thanks to all of you that took notice of our big crossover with the Impossible Jones/Holly Daze kickstarter campaign yesterday. A bunch of you will be receiving the free print, expertly illustrated by our very own David Hahn, when that campaign fulfills. If you weren't paying attention yesterday, DON'T FREAK OUT! There's still time; just comment on this update with the phrase IMPOSSIBLE DUSK after you've backed that campaign and you're in for a free slice of awesome!
As for The Dusk campaign itself, we're continuing to climb that mountain towards our funding goal. Currently, we're a little bit over $13,000 away from being able to bring this project to life. It seems like a lot (it IS a lot!) but it's a very attainable amount to raise within the time we have left. Traditionally, the third week of a campaign can be the slowest so of course, anything you guys can do to spread the word and get this project in front of new sets of eyes is hugely appreciated, thanks!
To kick off week three, we've added the first two pages of Dave Hahn's original black and white art for The Dusk graphic novel as reward tiers to the campaign. Original Dusk art is actually very rare; only these four pages exist in physical form, the remainder of the project is being produced digitally. So we hope this is a nice chance for a backer to get his or her hands on something both historic and exceptionally collectible from the campaign. When these first two pages are snapped up, pages three and four will be added.
PAGE ONE!
PAGE TWO!
Back to fighting the good fight to clean up the streets of Blackstone. Be safe out there, everyone, and thanks for all your help!

The Impossible crossover

Citizens Of Blackstone!
Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend and, unlike some of us here at Ominous, aren't full of pie and regrets this morning.
The Dusk has made strong progress over the last couple of days, we're just about 65% funded this morning with a tiny bit over two weeks left in the campaign. So obviously, there's still some ground to cover but we're getting there, one new backer at a time.
Speaking of backers, we're currently at 533, a bit short of the magic number of 587 backers needed for everyone to get a free print of the stunning Wilfredo Torres piece we showed off on Friday. Which sucks... so we're gonna extend the backer drive one more day! If we can hit that mark by noon tomorrow, it's free prints for everyone! Help us get there, get a little something special in return... it's a win/win for all of us!
We've got a new original art reward added to the page this morning, some hard-hitting The Dusk versus Grand Theft Auto action by the great Drew Edward Johnson!
Check it out below; this piece, with color, will be a part of the expanded lobby card art coming up soon.
And finally today, it's The Dusk's very first crossover! As some of you may be aware, Dusk artist David Hahn is also currently involved with the Impossible Jones/Holly Daze kickstarter campaign, which is down to its final three days of funding. David and Alex Segura put their heads together with the lovely and talented Karl Kesel and came up with this striking image you see here:
The Dusk and Impossible Jones...TOGETHER!
Now here's the catch. Anyone that backs BOTH campaigns, The Dusk and Impossible Jones, will get a free print of the crossover art above. Just leave the comment, "IMPOSSIBLE DUSK" on THIS update after you pledge to the Impossible campaign. The Impossible backers will do the same for this campaign and by doing so, you guys will give us an easy way to verify names/pledges between the two campaigns. Simple, right?
So what are you waiting for? The hot crossover action begins right here at ImpossibleKickstarter.com!
Thanks for all your help bringing this project to life. Back tomorrow to kick off week three in style!

Citizens Of Blackstone! Want to see something pretty?
Wilfredo Torres makes The Dusk fly!
Friend of Blackstone WILFREDO TORRES produced this illustration as part of the campaign and to say it's STUNNING is an understatement! If you're not following Wilfredo already, his handle is @mightyfineline on Twitter; he's a massive talent.
Anyway, if you'd like a FREE PRINT of Wilfredo's Dusk piece, we're launching a BACKER DRIVE to help you get one. If we can reach 100 NEW BACKERS by Monday, April 5th, everyone will get a copy of this beauty added to their packages (physical reward backers will receive a physical print, digital reward backers will get a high-rez download)!
We're at 487 backers right now, as these words are typed, so we've gotta hit 587 by noon on Monday. How can you help? SHARESHARESHARE the campaign! Post on your social media! Shake some sense into your comic-loving friends! To know The Dusk is to love The Dusk and once they learn about the campaign, you'll be their best friend for clueing them in.
As always, we appreciate all the ways you're helping to make this project happen. It takes a village, as they say.
In other news, Alex appeared on Kat Calamia's podcast last night and you'll never guess what they discussed (among other things)? That's right, The Dusk was mentioned. Check it out HERE! and thanks to Kat for helping us get the word out a little more.
Happy Easter to all of you that celebrate. Stay safe out there and we'll see you Monday, hopefully with news that you're all getting a free print.
