Citizens Of Blackstone!
When we asked Tom Nguyen to contribute some artwork to the campaign for The Dusk, we suggested he do a convention-style torso sketch of The Dusk. This is what we got back...
A Tom Nguyen Grand Slam
So I guess the moral to the story is that if you see Tom at a convention, ask him to do a torso sketch for you and you'll also get an 11x17 fully-inked illustration instead. Not a bad problem to have and our sincere thanks to Tom for going above and beyond to help the campaign out! For his efforts, the creative team on The Dusk are giving him the honorary key to Blackstone City!
Tom's awesome piece is available on the campaign page now. It probably won't be for long so by all means, if you know someone that might dig it, please let them know!
And speaking of sharing, we're currently running a "SHARE" contest on the Ominous Press Facebook page. Everyone that shares the post is entered into a raffle to win a Jim StarlinDreadstar slipcase. Three Omnibuses full of classic Dreadstar action with a specially designed, Starlin-illustrated slipcase cover. Once you share, you're entered to win and we'll be choosing a winner tomorrow!
See you then. We have plans to make it a VERY good Friday...

Shawn McGuan!
Guest artist Tom Nguyen is still hard at work on his original art reward. He's putting a lot more into it than expected so we're adjusting our schedule to accommodate Tom's hard work and we're expecting his piece to be ready by tomorrow now.
In other news, we continue to be astounded by the number of great projects currently live on Kickstarter. Another one that's caught our eye is INFERNO GIRL RED, from Mat Groom and EricaD'urso. Team Inferno was nice enough to send us some information about their project, check it out!
From Mat Groom, the co-writer of Marvel Comics' hit ULTRAMAN comics, and rising star artist Erica D’Urso (CAPTAIN MARVEL and XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS) comes INFERNO GIRL RED, an all-new original graphic novel that combines the high school super-heroic drama of INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE with the dynamic storytelling and world-building of Japanese tokusatsu superheroes, and the intrigue and relationship drama of British boarding school fiction.
The INFERNO GIRL RED Kickstarter campaign features the oversized, deluxe format hardcover (7 x 11 inches) with an exclusive, Kickstarter-only cover and Kickstarter-edition-exclusive concept art, as well as a RADIANT BLACK/ INFERNO GIRL RED team-up print by RADIANT BLACK artist Marcelo Costa and INFERNO GIRL RED artist Erica D'Urso and fourteen collectible INFERNO GIRL RED giclee art prints by Darko Lafuente, Doaly, Francesco Manna, Eduardo Ferigato, Dash O'Brien–Georgeson, Federico Sabbatini (with Martina Fari), Wil Sur, Kath Lobo, Serg Acūna, Eleonora Carlini, Tiffany Turrill, Nicola Scott, Nicole Goux and Valeria Favoccia!
Check out Inferno Girl Red RIGHT HERE! You'll be glad you did!
That's all for today, citizens! More fun coming tomorrow; in the meantime, sharing is caring!

Citizens Of Blackstone!
Last night, the indefatigable Alex Segura spent some time chatting with the great and powerful John Siuntres for an episode of the Word Balloon podcast; and you'll never guess what they talked about... that's right, THE DUSK. If you're interested in learning more about the project, plus hearing the silky smooth vocal stylings of Siuntres and Segura, give a listen HERE!
A couple of times, we've mentioned the new LOBBY CARD reward tier that will be introduced to the campaign this week. While we've got your attention this morning, we thought you'd enjoy a sneak peek at one of the cards coming down the pike, this one by Liana Kangas. Lobby cards will be available individually as an add on for existing backers and, also, as a bundle with the hardcover for new backers. The initial set consists of eight lobby cards but will grow to twelve as we add more over the remainder of the campaign. Hope you all enjoy them!
Remember, keep sharing! We're continuing to make progress toward The Dusk's funding goal but we can't do it without your help! Tomorrow, a new original art reward rears its head!

Halfway there!

Citizens of Blackstone!
We're excited to let all of you know that we're currently slightly over 50% funded! Not too shabby, as we're just shy of a week for the campaign. We can't thank all of you enough for the support you've shown to The Dusk, but...
We've still got a long way to go before this project transforms from a gleam in the fertile imaginations of Alex Segura, Elizabeth Little and David Hahn to an actual book that we can all hold in our hands and marvel at together. So just remember, every time you share the project on your social media, that little angel Alex gets his wings.
As the first week of this campaign comes to a close, we're very grateful to Dean Haspiel for donating the original art to his amazing Dusk/Red Hook pin up to the campaign. As a rule, Dean never sells his artwork so it's a very rare opportunity for one lucky backer to pick this great piece up!
To keep the train rolling, we'll be debuting a couple of other new rewards this week. Don't worry, we'll be sure to let you know about them, in case you want to add on to your existing pledge.
Dean Haspiel's original art!
In other Dusk news, friend of The Dusk, Kat Calamia currently has a campaign running called, "The Dancer." If you're a fan of martial arts and psychological thrillers (and which of us isn't?), you'll definitely want to check it out; not just because Kat has put together a really cool, interesting comic book but she and Alex have cooked up a surprise treat for backers of both their campaigns! We'll be talking about it more during the remaining three weeks of this campaign but if you want first dibs, check it out here!
Keep fighting the good fight, my friends. Getting there is half the fun and we are officially halfway there. Back tomorrow with all-new thrills, chills and surprises. Thanks for all your help.

Update two: THE CLIMB

Citizens of Blackstone, unite!
Interested in learning a little more about The Dusk? Our friends at Popoff were kind enough to interview Alex Segura about this project and campaign. If you're the type that enjoys a little behind-the-scenes perspective on where ideas come from; particularly if you're a parent, you may appreciate some insight into the origins of The Dusk and his mission here!
We've continued to make steady progress towards our funding goal over the last 24 hours and are happy to report the campaign is currently 43% funded! That's an amazing start but now the hard work begins, as we continue the arduous climb towards the nirvana that is a greenlight for this project. We have some friends that will be stopping by to help: Joe Eisma, Tom Nguyen and Drew Edward Johnson, to name a few. There's also a rumor that we'll be adding the original preview page art by David Hahn to the rewards tier; if you're the art-collecting type, you won't want to miss it.
David Hahn's original Dusk character sheet
And speaking of the Rembrandt of Blackstone City that is David Hahn, if you're not already aware, he and the legendary Karl Kesel have another project currently running on Kickstarter, Impossible 2: Impossible Jones and Holly Daze Team-Up! The stuff Karl and David put together is impossibly fun and well worth your time. Check it out when you have a second, if you already haven't!
We've covered a lot of ground this morning so by all means, take a few seconds to relax. When you've finished processing this pulse-pounding update, feel more than free to share our project out to the world! Every new set of eyes that takes a look at The Dusk is one potential pledge closer to making this book a reality. Clearly, that's something we all want or we wouldn't be here reading this right now!
